The OCS 2007 R2 Application Server has following services:

Additionally OCS 2007 R2 Front End server installs the following service.

    Hi,

I have double checked this information and specially the below link from Microsoft regarding OCS Server Role Collocation .
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816173.aspx

in this table it is confirming that the OCS 2007 R2 Standard Edition Front End Server can also Host CWA , Archiving and Monitoring.
As for the OCS 2007 R2 Enterprise edition can only host CWA .
please revise the URL and let me know what you think

Any thoughts on why MS changed the CWA colocate matrix? It is now unsupported to colocate CWA with any other role.

Have you done this and do you know of any known issues in colocating CWA on a FE server? For small deployments it seems to be overkill for yet another lone server.

    Thx.

well i think they changed it because CWA is not doing more functionalities than just a web chat , with the Voice capabilities and the Desktop sharing.
but for small deployments i have installed it on a separate IIS virtual directory and it was working fine.
Again if you are talking about supportability then the answer is that it is not supported but as far as the doability then yes it works.
